Job Description

Due to the needs of scientific research projects, Professor Yuan Dafei's research group from the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Hunan University is recruiting postdoctoral researchers. We sincerely invite outstanding young scholars from home and abroad to join us!

Job Requirements

A doctoral degree in chemistry, physics, materials science or other related fields from a well-known university or research institute is required, along with experience in the synthesis of organic semiconductor materials and the fabrication of devices.

Obtaining a doctoral degree usually takes three years, and the age is generally no more than 35 years old.

Compensation and benefits

Special Funding Category A: The university allocates personnel expenses at a standard of 300,000 yuan per year, with a minimum of 30,000 yuan in matching funds from the college or supervisor, and a monthly housing allowance of 1,800 yuan.

Key Funding Category B: The school allocates personnel funds at a standard of 200,000 yuan per year, with a minimum of 30,000 yuan in matching funds from the college or supervisor, and a monthly housing subsidy of 1,800 yuan.

For the C category of international joint training programs, the university allocates personnel funds at a standard of 200,000 yuan per year (including state subsidies) plus the research group funds from the foreign partner.

D General Funding Category: The university allocates personnel expenses at a standard of 120,000 yuan per year, with a minimum of 30,000 yuan in matching funds from the college or supervisor, and a monthly housing allowance of 1,800 yuan.

Support and guarantee

Be eligible for talent subsidies in Changsha City as per policy (including living allowances and housing purchase subsidies ranging from 130,000 to 200,000 yuan).

During the period of being at the station, the school will calculate the working years. For postdoctoral researchers without previous work experience before entering the station, their working time will be calculated from the date of entering the station.

3. Postdoctoral researchers are immediately rated as assistant researchers upon entry, and the quota for recognizing associate researchers during the postdoctoral period is listed separately.

4. The university has specially established the "Outstanding Postdoctoral Fellow" award. Those who are selected can apply for a teaching and research position with a permanent staff status after completing their postdoctoral research.

Introduction to the Co-supervisor

Yuan Dafei is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Hunan University. After successfully defending his doctoral dissertation at the Key Laboratory of Organic Solids, Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in April 2019, he conducted postdoctoral research in the laboratory of Professor Luping Yu, a renowned expert in organic optoelectronics at the Department of Chemistry, University of Chicago (April 2019 - May 2021), and in the laboratories of Professor Michael L. Chabinyc, Chair of the Department of Materials at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and Professor Rachel A. Segalman, an academician of the National Academy of Engineering of the United States (2021 - present). He has long been engaged in the design and synthesis of high-performance organic semiconductor materials and the preparation of advanced organic electronic devices, achieving innovative and breakthrough progress in multiple frontier fields such as organic thermoelectric materials, diradical conductive materials, and organic light-emitting field-effect transistor materials. To date, he has published 22 academic papers, including 12 as the first author, in prestigious journals such as Chem (3), J. Am. Chem. Soc. (1), Angew. Chem., Int. Ed. (1), Chem. Sci. (1), Adv. Sci. (1), and Chem. Mater. (1). He has been granted one Chinese and one US patent. In 2019, he was selected as a Potential Energy Rising Star by the Chem journal.
