Job Description

Due to the needs of a scientific research project, Professor Xu Jingfen's research group from the School of Foreign Languages at Hunan University is recruiting postdoctoral researchers. We sincerely invite outstanding young scholars from home and abroad to join us!

Job Requirements

1. Meet the professional requirements of the applicant: majoring in speech pathology, cognitive neuroscience, cognitive psychology, language disorders, communication disorders, or information science related fields;

2. Bonus points for applicants: Familiarity with EEG operation, brain imaging research, or software development;

3. It usually takes three years to obtain a doctoral degree, and the age is generally no more than 35 years old.

4. Possess good research potential, academic ethics and comprehensive abilities;

5. Engage in full-time research work at school.

Compensation and benefits

Special Funding Category A: The school allocates personnel expenses at a standard of 300,000 yuan per year, plus matching funds from the School of Foreign Languages and a monthly housing subsidy of 1,800 yuan.

Key Funding Category B: The school allocates personnel expenses at a standard of 200,000 yuan per year, plus matching funds from the School of Foreign Languages and a monthly housing subsidy of 1,800 yuan.

For the C category of international joint training programs: The university allocates personnel funds at a standard of 200,000 yuan per year (including state subsidies) + funds from the School of Foreign Languages + funds from the foreign research group.

D General Funding Category: The school allocates personnel expenses at a standard of 120,000 yuan per year + additional funds from the School of Foreign Languages + a monthly housing allowance of 1,800 yuan.

Support and guarantee

Be eligible for talent subsidies in Changsha City as per policy (including living allowances and housing purchase subsidies ranging from 130,000 to 200,000 yuan).

During the period of being at the station, the school will calculate the working years. For postdoctoral researchers without previous work experience before entering the station, their working time will be calculated from the date of entering the station.

3. Postdoctoral researchers are immediately rated as assistant researchers upon entry, and the quota for recognizing associate researchers during the postdoctoral period is listed separately.

4. The university has specially established the "Outstanding Postdoctoral Fellow" award. Those who are selected can apply for a teaching and research position with a permanent staff status after completing their postdoctoral research.

6. Introduction to Team-related Research.

Professor Xu Jingfen is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Foreign Languages, Hunan University. She has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Linguistics, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, the Institute of Child Health, University College London, UK, the Centre for Brain and Cognitive Development, Department of Psychology, Birkbeck College, University of London, UK, and the Laboratory of Cognitive Psychology, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. She has also been a visiting scholar at the Department of Linguistics, University of Maryland, College Park, USA. She serves as a reviewer for domestic and international journals and dissertations, and is the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Speech-Language Pathology. She leads the Language Pathology and Developmental Neuroscience Laboratory at Hunan University and has been the principal investigator of several research projects funded by the National Social Science Foundation of China, the Natural Science Foundation of Hunan Province, and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Taiwan. 7. Team support guarantee.

Successful applicants for the postdoctoral researcher position will join the research team, enjoy the aforementioned allowances, receive academic guidance from the laboratory director, utilize relevant resources and equipment in the laboratory, delve into research topics, apply for scientific research projects, conduct experiments, and publish academic papers. They will also participate in group meetings with doctoral and master's students as well as undergraduates in the laboratory to engage in scientific research discussions.
