The School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation at Northeastern University is recruiting young teachers and postdoctoral researchers for 2024.

The School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation has a teaching and research team led by academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering (hired). Currently, the school has two first-level disciplines, namely "Mechanical Engineering" and "Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics", both of which have postdoctoral research stations. They cover seven second-level disciplines, including "Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation", "Mechanical Design and Theory", "Mechanical Electronics Engineering", "Vehicle Engineering", "Fluid Machinery and Engineering", "Chemical Machinery", and "Power Machinery and Engineering", all of which have the authority to confer doctoral and master's degrees. Among them, "Mechanical Design and Theory" is a national key discipline, and the first-level discipline of "Mechanical Engineering" and the second-level discipline of "Fluid Machinery and Engineering" are key disciplines of Liaoning Province.

Recruitment Type: Young Teachers

Conditions and requirements:

Doctoral graduates should be no more than 32 years old, and postdoctoral researchers should be no more than 35 years old. They should be of good moral character and professional competence, and meet the criteria of a "good teacher with four virtues". They should have a solid foundation in disciplines such as mechanical engineering, power engineering, and engineering thermophysics, and have representative achievements such as academic papers and books with innovative levels and scientific value. They should have achieved outstanding results recognized by domestic and international peers in their fields and demonstrate good academic development potential. They should be able to cooperate with academic leaders to conduct high-level scientific research, have research directions consistent with those of the academic leaders, and possess good collaboration and communication skills. They should master basic teaching concepts and methods, have solid teaching fundamentals, and be capable of teaching part or all of the course content.

Recruitment Type: Postdoctoral Fellow

Conditions and requirements:

In good physical and mental health, no more than 35 years old, with a doctoral degree, and fully engaged in postdoctoral research. Possessing excellent academic and professional ethics, being dedicated to the job, and having a strong sense of responsibility and dedication.

III. Salary and Benefits

The basic salary of young teachers is paid according to the position they are hired for. The internal distribution part is paid according to the third-level associate professor position. Among the task funds, the school guarantees that within the first contract period, it will be paid according to the average value of the third-level associate professor position in their respective colleges.

For those who participate in the performance review and defense assessment during the first contract period and pass the assessment, their basic salary and the portion allocated within the school during the second contract period will be implemented in accordance with the position they are hired for.

For those appointed to the associate professor position, both their basic salary and the portion allocated within the school will be implemented in accordance with the appointed position.

4. The school offers new teachers a research start-up fund of 50,000 yuan and a housing subsidy of 100,000 yuan. Additionally, newly recruited teachers are also eligible for the employment and entrepreneurship living subsidy provided by Shenyang City.

The relevant benefits for postdoctoral researchers shall be implemented in accordance with the "Management Measures for Postdoctoral Work of Northeastern University".
