Postdoctoral Researcher Recruitment Notice from Professor Tao Hui's Research Group at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Wuhan University

Professor Hui Tao's research group from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Wuhan University, based on the Key Laboratory of Combinatorial Biosynthesis and Innovative Postdocug Discovery of the Ministry of Education, mainly conducts research in the field of natural product synthetic biology. Due to the needs of scientific research, the group is now seeking to hire two postdoctoral researchers. The recruitment is ongoing and will continue until the positions are filled. We warmly welcome young talents to join us! We also welcome students to join our research group as master's or doctoral students or research assistants for scientific research and study.

I. Introduction to the Research Group

The project leader, Professor Tao Hui, is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Wuhan University, and a PI at the Wuhan University Taikang Center for Life Sciences. She has been selected for the National High-level Overseas Young Talent Program and the Hubei Province High-level Overseas Young Talent Program. She is also the principal investigator of the Youth Scientist Project under the National Key Research and Development Program. Her research mainly focuses on synthetic biology of complex natural products. She has published numerous papers in internationally renowned journals such as Nature, Nature Communications, J. Am. Chem. Soc., and Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. as the first author or corresponding author.

Main research directions:

Research on the biosynthesis analysis, structural innovation and metabolic engineering of active natural products;

(2) Research on the mining and characterization of enzyme catalytic elements, the analysis of catalytic mechanisms, and directed evolution;

(3) Research on engineering microorganisms and disease treatment, etc.

II. Job Requirements

Have obtained or are about to obtain a doctoral degree in synthetic biology, metabolic engineering, enzyme engineering, bioinformatics, natural product chemistry, natural product biosynthesis or related fields; generally no more than 35 years old, and the time since obtaining the doctoral degree is generally no more than 3 years.

2. Candidates with the following research background or relevant experience will be given priority: bioinformatics; protein structure analysis; AI or automation-assisted natural product research, etc.

3. Enthusiastic about scientific research, with an indomitable enterprising spirit, good academic ethics and a strong sense of teamwork, capable of independently conducting and completing the research tasks assigned by the cooperative supervisor.

4. Good health, in compliance with the relevant regulations of Wuhan University on postdoctoral management.

III. Job Benefits

The laboratory will provide a stable working environment and a first-class research platform. It will actively support and give priority to recommending applicants for various postdoctoral talent support programs such as "Wuhan University Hongyi Postdoctoral", the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China for Young Scientists. Applicants are encouraged to explore and develop in their areas of interest.

2. The salary will be determined based on the individual's research experience in the relevant field and the regulations for postdoctoral management, and will be offered at a competitive level. Generally, the annual salary for applicants ranges from 200,000 to 350,000 yuan (including the portion from the research group). For exceptionally outstanding candidates, the specific salary and benefits will be negotiated. If selected for the "Boron Xin Plan", the salary will be further supplemented by various national and provincial postdoctoral project funds, with the maximum reaching up to 580,000 yuan.
