Job Description

Professor Yang Tong's research group at the Wuhan Institute of Mathematics and Intelligence, Wuhan University, is seeking several postdoctoral researchers for its research projects. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. We warmly welcome young talents to join us!

Yang Tong, a tenured professor at the Wuhan Institute of Mathematics and Intelligent Systems, Wuhan University, and a doctoral supervisor, was elected as a foreign member of the European Academy of Sciences in 2018 and a member of the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World in 2021. In 2021, he was also elected as a member of the Hong Kong Academy of Sciences. In 2022, he was elected as a foreign member of the Academia Europaea. Professor Yang Tong's research focuses on partial differential equations and kinetic theory. He served as one of the chief editors of the mathematics journal "Analysis and Applications" from 2013 to 2017 and was one of the founding chief editors of "Kinetic and Related Models" since 2008. He is also a member of the editorial boards of international journals such as "Bulletin of the London Mathematical Society", "Journal of the London Mathematical Society", and "SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis".

II. Job Requirements

Have good ideological and political qualities and professional ethics, with upright teaching conduct and style, rigorous scientific attitude, dedication to work, and good health.

2. Applicants should generally be no more than 35 years old, have a solid foundation in mathematics, and have published high-level academic papers.

3. Have obtained a doctoral degree no more than three years ago (as of the date of application submission), or have met the basic requirements for the defense of a doctoral dissertation at the time of application.

4. Comply with other relevant regulations of Wuhan University concerning postdoctoral management.

III. Job Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the supervisor, carry out independent research work. Publish academic papers in well-known domestic and foreign journals and participate in important academic conferences in the field.

2. Assist the supervisor in applying for research projects, manage the research team, organize academic reports and discussion sessions. Also encourage and support the postdoctoral researcher to actively apply for research projects on their own.

IV. Remuneration and Benefits

1. Salary and Benefits: The annual salary for general applicants ranges from 180,000 to 300,000 RMB (before tax, including a portion from the research group). Particularly outstanding candidates will be recommended to apply for the university's "Hongyi Postdoctoral" program and key-funded postdoctoral positions. The specific salary will be determined in accordance with the university's relevant regulations, and can be supplemented by various postdoctoral project subsidies from the state, Hubei Province, and Wuhan City.

During the period of stationing, one can apply for the qualification of associate senior position. If one meets the school's talent introduction policy and fulfills the conditions for leaving the station, one can apply for a teaching position at the school.

3.
