Job Description

Professor Yang Zhenjun's research group from the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture of Wuhan is recruiting several postdoctoral researchers and research assistants. The recruitment is open on a long-term basis. Yang Zhenjun is a Second-Class Professor and doctoral supervisor specializing in structural engineering and solid mechanics at Wuhan University. He is a national young talent and a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers, UK. For four consecutive years, he has been listed on Elsevier's China Most Cited Researchers and Stanford University's World's Top 2% Scientists. He has led over 30 research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, funding bodies from the UK, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Germany), aerospace research funds from the US and Europe, Zhejiang Provincial Outstanding Youth Fund, as well as commissioned projects from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and China Academy of Engineering Physics. He serves as an editorial board member for multiple SCI journals and acts as Associate Editor of Structures, a journal categorized as Tier 2 by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has supervised more than 20 doctoral students and 6 postdoctoral researchers. Among his former postdocs, two now hold professor positions and six work as associate professors at universities at home and abroad, with one serving as a college dean. His laboratory is equipped with world-leading in-situ micro-CT scanning devices, computational mechanics simulation software and high-performance computing workstations. Multi-scale fracture and damage mechanics theories as well as computational simulation methods for complex materials including concrete, fiber composites, shale and hot dry rock. 2. In-situ micro-CT experimental characterization and computational simulation on the failure mechanism of complex materials under load, water pressure and environmental impacts. 3. 3D printing technology, process simulation and parameter optimization of ultra-high performance fiber-reinforced concrete. 4. Thermal-fluid-solid-damage multi-field coupling simulation for hydraulic fracturing in shale gas and hot dry rock exploitation. 5. Development and application of high-performance numerical methods, especially the scaled boundary finite element method. II. Job Requirements 1. Possess sound ideological quality and professional ethics, maintain a rigorous research attitude, be dedicated to work and stay in good health. 2. Have a solid academic foundation in structural engineering, building materials, computational mechanics or rock mechanics, and have published high-level academic papers. 3. Applicants are generally under 35 years old. The period since doctoral degree conferral shall not exceed three years as of the application deadline, or applicants shall have completed all requirements for doctoral dissertation defense. 4. Abide by other postdoctoral management regulations of Wuhan University. III. Job Responsibilities 1. Conduct independent research for assigned projects, publish high-quality academic papers and participate in key academic conferences in relevant fields. 2. Assist the supervisor with research project applications, laboratory and team management, as well as organization of academic seminars and conferences. 3. Encourage and support postdoctoral researchers to apply for independent research grants. IV. Remuneration and Benefits 1. The pre-tax annual salary ranges from 210,000 to 300,000 yuan (including subsidies from the research group). Exceptionally outstanding candidates will be recommended for Wuhan University's Hongyi Postdoctoral Program. The specific salary will be determined in accordance with university policies. Postdocs can also apply for and receive stacked subsidies from national, Hubei provincial and Wuhan municipal postdoctoral programs. 2. During the postdoctoral tenure, researchers are eligible to apply for associate senior professional titles. Those meeting the university's talent recruitment policies and exit requirements can apply for faculty positions. 3. In accordance with Wuhan University's postdoctoral policies, we provide housing provident fund, endowment insurance and occupational annuity, along with postdoctoral apartments or housing subsidies.
