Job Description
The project leader, Professor Gao Lei, is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Wuhan University. He received his Ph.D. from the Beijing Institute of Life Sciences/ Peking Union Medical College and conducted postdoctoral research at the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, Peking University. He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. His research mainly focuses on the biosynthesis of plant natural products and enzyme catalysis. He has published numerous papers in internationally renowned journals such as Science, Nature Catalysis, Nature Chemistry, Accounts of Chemical Research, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., and ACS Catalysis as (co-)first author or (co-)corresponding author.
Main research directions:
(1) Elucidation and heterologous reconstruction of biosynthetic pathways of plant active natural products;
(2) Mining, characterization, mechanism analysis and functional modification of novel enzyme catalytic elements;
(3) Chemical-enzymatic synthesis of bioactive molecules;
According to the work requirements, it is planned to recruit 1 to 2 postdoctoral researchers in the above three research directions.
I. Job Requirements
Have obtained or are about to obtain a doctoral degree in related fields such as natural product biosynthesis, organic chemistry, enzyme catalysis, bioinformatics, botany, synthetic biology, and metabolic engineering; generally no more than 35 years old, and the time since obtaining the doctoral degree is generally no more than 3 years.
2. Candidates with the following research background or relevant experience will be given priority: total synthesis of natural products; biosynthesis of natural products; enzyme catalysis, etc.
3. I am passionate about scientific research and possess an unwavering Postdocive for progress, along with strong academic integrity and a spirit of teamwork. I have excellent English reading and writing skills and am capable of independently conducting and completing research tasks assigned by my supervisor.
4. Good health, in compliance with the relevant regulations of Wuhan University on postdoctoral management.
II. Job Benefits
The annual salary ranges from 210,000 to 300,000 yuan (before tax, including the portion from the research group). Particularly outstanding candidates will be recommended to apply for the "Hongyi Postdoctoral" program of the university. The specific salary will be determined in accordance with the relevant regulations of the university. Additionally, various postdoctoral project subsidies from the state, Hubei Province, and Wuhan City can be superimposed.
During the period of stationing, one can apply for the qualification of associate senior position. Those who meet the school's talent introduction policy and the conditions for leaving the station can apply for a teaching position at the school.
3.
