Job Description
Jin Suoqin is a professor at the School of Mathematics and Statistics of Wuhan University and a doctoral supervisor. He is also a recipient of the National Youth Talent Program. He received his Ph.D. from Wuhan University in 2016 and then conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California, Irvine. His research mainly focuses on the intersection of mathematics, artificial intelligence, and biomedicine. He has carried out a series of studies on the mathematical modeling and intelligent mining of single-cell omics data, as well as the development of mathematical theories and methods to address cutting-edge scientific issues in biomedicine. His research achievements have been published in renowned academic journals such as Nature Communications, Nature Neuroscience, Nature Protocols, Genome Biology, NAR, and SIAM J Appl Math, with the 2021 CellChat work on cell communication receiving over 3,900 citations. He was awarded the Frontier Science Prize at the 2024 International Congress of Basic Sciences. Zou Xiufen is a professor at the School of Mathematics and Statistics of Wuhan University and a doctoral supervisor. She is the vice president of the Computational Systems Biology Branch of the Operations Research Society of China, the deputy director of the Mathematical Life Sciences Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, and a standing committee member of the Biomathematics Professional Committee of the Chinese Mathematical Society. She has long been engaged in interdisciplinary research in mathematics and biomedicine. In recent years, she has presided over and undertaken a number of scientific research projects, including key projects and general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and projects of the National Major Research Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology. She has achieved a series of results in the integration of massive data for complex diseases, multi-scale modeling combining models and data, machine learning methods, and optimal control of complex diseases. Her academic papers have been published in important international academic journals such as SIAM on Applied Mathematics, Inverse Problems, Chaos, Applied Mathematical Modeling, and interdisciplinary journals such as PNAS, Nucleic Acids Research, and PLOS Computational Biology. I. Research Directions Our team is dedicated to interdisciplinary research in mathematics, artificial intelligence and biomedicine, covering areas such as computational systems biology, bioinformatics, deep learning and big data analysis. II. Application Requirements 1. The applicant should have obtained (within the last three years) or will soon obtain a doctoral degree in a relevant field, and is generally no more than 35 years old. 2. Possess solid academic and research capabilities in the relevant field, having published academic papers in well-known journals of the field, and have a certain ability to write independently in English. 3. Be capable of independently conducting research under the guidance of the project leader, possess a spirit of teamwork, and meet the relevant requirements for postdoctoral management at Wuhan University. III. Job Benefits 1. The annual salary for general applicants ranges from 200,000 to 300,000 yuan (before tax, including the portion from the research group). For those with outstanding academic achievements, the salary can be further negotiated. We will also recommend them to apply for the "Hongyi Postdoctoral" and key-funded postdoctoral positions at Wuhan University. The salary can be supplemented by various postdoctoral project funds from the state, Hubei Province, and Wuhan City. The research group will provide additional allowances based on research achievements. 2. Strongly support applications for national-level programs such as the Postdoctoral Innovation Talent Support Program, the National Natural Science Foundation for Young Scholars, and the Postdoctoral Science Foundation. 3. During the period of stationing, one can apply for the associate senior position qualification of Wuhan University.
