Institution Profile Nanchang University is a national "Double First-Class" construction university, a university jointly built by the Ministry of Education and Jiangxi Province, and a key university for the overall construction of Jiangxi’s first-class universities. The university currently has 42 teaching units, covering 13 disciplines and offering 91 undergraduate programs. It boasts 22 first-level disciplines authorized to confer doctoral degrees, 3 doctoral professional degree categories, and 18 postdoctoral research stations; 49 first-level disciplines authorized to confer master’s degrees, and 35 master’s professional degree categories. The university has 5 directly affiliated hospitals, with a total of 9 national key clinical specialties. The discipline of Materials Science and Engineering has been selected into the national "Double First-Class" construction disciplines, and 6 disciplines have been selected into Jiangxi’s first-class disciplines. Fourteen disciplines have entered the top 1% of ESI global rankings, among which Agricultural Sciences (mainly focusing on Food Science) ranks among the top 0.369‰ globally; the Food discipline ranks 7th in the "US News Global University Rankings". In February 2021, Jiangxi Provincial Outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035 clearly stated that "the whole province will make every effort to run Nanchang University well and strive to enter the ranks of world-class universities". Application Requirements (1) Recruiting Disciplines The university currently has 18 postdoctoral research stations: Materials Science and Engineering, Food Science and Engineering, Management Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Technology, Environmental Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics, Clinical Medicine, Marxist Theory, Biology, Philosophy, Journalism and Communication, Mathematics, Physics, Hydraulic Engineering, Basic Medicine, and Pharmacy. For disciplines without postdoctoral research stations, postdoctoral researchers can be recruited relying on postdoctoral stations of related disciplines. (2) Recruitment Qualifications 1. Obtained a doctoral degree within 3 years, aged 35 or below (those with exceptional excellence may have the age limit relaxed to 38). 2. Possess strong scientific research innovation capabilities and team spirit. 3. Have good academic ethics, a rigorous scientific attitude, good health, and be able to meet the job requirements. 4. Applicants who have achieved significant research results will be given priority. 5. Meet the relevant requirements for recruiting postdoctoral researchers in each postdoctoral station and engage in postdoctoral research work on a full-time basis.
