Job Description
I. Introduction to the Research Group
The research group is committed to understanding the multi-field coupling functionality of low-dimensional nanomaterials and investigating the fracture and failure mechanisms of lightweight structural materials starting from the atomic scale, by combining theoretical, experimental, and machine learning methods. This research aims to guide the rational design and preparation of functional nanomaterials and high-temperature lightweight structural materials. In recent years, the group has expanded its research interests to the solid-liquid interfaces formed by functional materials and water, exploring new approaches for energy conversion based on multi-field coupling at solid-liquid interfaces and establishing the theoretical basis for water-energy harvesting and water-driven intelligence. The group is equipped with sufficient high-performance computing resources and advanced instruments, and undertakes a number of important national, provincial, and ministerial projects.
### II. Recruitment Requirements
1. Possess good political quality and moral integrity, abide by laws and regulations, and be in good physical and mental health.
2. Graduated from renowned overseas universities or research institutions, with backgrounds in internationally top-tier disciplines or under the guidance of globally recognized leading mentors; outstanding overseas doctoral degree holders in mechanics, condensed matter physics, materials science, and related fields, aged no more than 35 years old.
3. Excel in both character and academic performance, with high academic standards and strong scientific research capabilities, able to independently complete the required research work, and have strong Chinese and English writing and communication skills.
4. Postdoctoral research stations are available in the following disciplines: Mechanics, Aeronautical and Astronautical Science and Technology, Materials Science and Engineering.
5. Recruitment directions: Low-dimensional quantum materials, lightweight structural materials, water-energy harvesting science and technology.

The team has built an independent high-performance computing cluster with a floating-point operation speed of 100 trillion operations per second, connected via optical fiber, and supported by a professional technical team to ensure efficient use of platform resources. The university has also established an independent high-performance computing platform, including large-scale CPU and GPU nodes, with a designed performance of 3 Pflops, meeting the computing needs of disciplines such as aerospace, energy, machinery, control, materials, information, mathematics, and physics.
### IV. Job Description
The appointment period is three years. Relying on research platforms such as the State Key Laboratory of Mechanics and Control of Aeronautical Structures, the appointee will engage in research on special projects in advanced materials, structural mechanics, and physical mechanics of solid-liquid interfaces. The group will support applications for the Jiangsu Excellent Postdoctoral Program (with a high probability of being selected) and the 2024 Nanjing Overseas Talents Science and Technology Innovation Project, etc. Those with excellent academic performance can be directly appointed as distinguished associate researchers.
V. Job Benefits
- Internationally competitive salary: The university provides a basic annual salary of 240,000 yuan; the cooperative supervisor provides no less than 60,000 yuan per year; after passing external review, the team provides an additional 300,000 yuan per year. Zhuhua Zhang, professor of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, winner of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, has studied at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Rice University in the United States. He mainly engages in research on the physical mechanics of low-dimensional functional materials and structural materials. He has published more than 150 academic papers in journals such as *Nature Nanotechnology*, *Physical Review Letters*, *Journal of the American Chemical Society*, and *Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids*, and has 6 authorized invention patents. His papers have been cited more than 9,000 times in SCI, and he has been listed in the "China Highly Cited Researchers" list from 2020 to 2023. He was selected into the National High-Level Talent Program (Youth Project) in 2017, appointed as a Jiangsu Distinguished Professor and a Jiangsu "Double Innovation Talent" in 2019. He has won the Youth Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Society of Mechanics (2021), the Young Teacher Award of the Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation (2020), and the First Prize of the Ministry of Education Natural Science Award (2011, 2022), etc. He serves as the Associate Editor of *International Journal of Smart Nano Materials*, (Youth) Editorial Board Member of 5 Chinese and English journals including *Acta Mechanica Sinica* and *Chinese Journal of Solid Mechanics*, as well as a member of the Physical Mechanics Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Mechanics and a member of the Micro-Nano Mechanics Working Group of the Chinese Society of Mechanics.
