Job Description

I. Team Profile Prof. Du Yu, a professor and doctoral supervisor at Northwest A&F University’s College of Horticulture, specializes in disease resistance mechanisms of Solanaceae crops and Phytophthora effector toxicity. Awarded the Shaanxi Outstanding Young Scientist Fund and leading 3 NSFC projects, his team has identified broad-spectrum disease-resistant genes and elucidated Phytophthora effector mechanisms. Published in journals like New Phytologist (4 papers) and Plant Biotechnology Journal (2 papers), he has mentored 2 national scholarship recipients and 3 award-winning master’s students. II. Research Direction 1) Solanaceae Blight Resistance: Analyze host-pathogen interactions using genetic materials (e.g., Nicotiana benthamiana cDNA-VIGS library) to uncover resistance mechanisms. 2) Phytophthora Effector Toxicity: Study 300+ cloned RXLR effectors to reveal pathogenic strategies and establish Phytophthora transformation systems. III. Requirements for Application - Ph.D. in plant genetics, molecular biology, horticulture, or related fields. - Passion for plant-pathogen research, teamwork skills, and resilience. - Proficient English (written/spoken). - Independent research and communication abilities. - Priority for candidates with Solanaceae molecular biology or bioinformatics experience. IV.
