Job Description

This postdoctoral research station operates in accordance with relevant policies and regulations, considering the specific situation of the college. We welcome doctoral graduates who have obtained their doctoral degrees abroad or domestically within the last three years, as well as those who are about to graduate (having successfully defended their dissertation). We also welcome postdoctoral researchers who have completed their postdoctoral research at other research and training stations or workstations. Applicants must meet the conditions for full-time entry; we do not recruit on-the-job researchers.

This station recruits the following two types of postdoctoral researchers:

A. School 'Super Postdoctoral' Fellow

  1. Eligibility: Must possess Chinese nationality without the right of permanent residence abroad or a long-term residence permit. Candidates must adhere to the correct political direction, exhibit upright ideological and moral character, have a sense of mission in scientific research, and abide by academic ethics. They must be excellent in both academic and moral conduct, in good health, and have no adverse records.
  2. Education and Age: Must have obtained a doctoral degree from a well-known university abroad, with the doctoral graduation institution or doctoral discipline ranking among the top 100 globally. Generally, applicants should be no older than 35 years old.
  3. Research Prowess: Candidates should possess excellent research literacy, a solid professional foundation, good research potential, and demonstrate outstanding research achievements. They must exhibit the ability to conduct in-depth research in relevant professional fields and show potential for successfully completing research tasks with high performance. Priority will be given to those who have published high-quality academic papers and possess international experience in Chinese language education.
  4. Exceptional Circumstances: For exceptionally outstanding candidates, conditions 2 and 3 may be relaxed with the approval of more than two-thirds of the expert committee.

B. Full-time Postdoctoral Fellow at the University

  1. Eligibility: Must possess Chinese nationality without the right of permanent residence abroad or a long-term residence permit. Candidates must adhere to the correct political direction, exhibit upright ideological and moral character, have a sense of mission in scientific research, and abide by academic ethics. They must be excellent in both character and academic performance, be physically healthy, and have no adverse records.
  2. Education and Age: Must have obtained a doctoral degree from a well-known university or research institute at home or abroad. Generally, applicants should be no older than 35 years old.
  3. Research Capability: Candidates should possess excellent research literacy, a solid professional foundation, and the ability to conduct independent scientific research. Priority will be given to those who have published high-quality academic papers and possess international experience in Chinese language education.
  4. Exceptional Circumstances: For exceptionally outstanding candidates, conditions 2 and 3 may be relaxed with the approval of more than two-thirds of the expert committee's deliberation.

Inbound Application

Applicants should submit their materials for initial qualification review by our station. Those who pass the review will be further evaluated on their comprehensive quality, academic level, and research ability through an interview and defense. Our station convenes an expert group meeting each spring semester to discuss postdoctoral entry applications. The deadline for receiving application materials is May 31st of each year, and no applications will be accepted after this date.

Applicants are required to provide the following electronic materials:

  • Personal Resume: Clearly list all published papers.
  • Personal Contact Information: Including email, phone number, and mobile phone number, limited to one A4-sized page.
  • Research Project Plan of the Postdoctoral Research Station of the International Cultural Exchange College: The template can be found in the "Personnel Training - Postdoctoral Education" section of the official website of the International Cultural Exchange College.
  • Scanned Copies of Two Recommendation Letters: From experts in the field, including your doctoral supervisor.
  • Doctoral Dissertation: For dissertations written in a foreign language, a detailed Chinese abstract must be attached.
  • Scanned Copies of Representative Academic Research Works (2-3 papers): For monographs, provide the full text. For journal papers, provide the journal cover page, table of contents, and the full text of the paper.
  • Scanned Copies of ID Card: Both front and back.
  • Scanned Copies of Doctoral Degree Certificate and Graduation Certificate: Fresh graduates may submit the resolution of the doctoral dissertation defense committee with the official seal of the degree office initially, and then submit the original within three months.
  • Scanned Copies of Custody Certificates: Unemployed individuals should submit these, issued by the institutions that manage their personnel files.

This station adheres to the principle of "strict assessment and selective recruitment" to openly, fairly, and impartially recruit postdoctoral researchers. All application materials undergo preliminary review by this station, and those that meet the requirements will proceed to the approval stage for recruitment.

Approval for Employment and Recruitment

To proceed with employment and recruitment, you will need to:

  • Log in to the online office system for postdoctoral fellows of China at .
  • Register as a personal user.
  • Fill in the application form for postdoctoral fellows' entry.
  • "Submit" your application to the postdoctoral research station of the International Cultural Exchange College of Fudan University.
  • After submission, print the downloaded module generated by the online office system.

You will also need to submit the following materials in full:

  • Postdoctoral Application Form:
  1. The address of household registration and the affiliated police station must be filled in according to the latest household registration information.
  2. Educational background must start from the undergraduate level.
  3. Any work experience must be filled in completely.
  4. Postdoctoral fellows with children must fill in their children's information.
  • Evaluation Form for Academic Departments of the Host Institution: To be filled out by the host institution for the mobility station.
  • For a doctoral graduate entering a postdoctoral research station, the graduation unit (the employment guidance department) of the doctoral student needs to issue a certificate for reporting to the postdoctoral research station.
  • Chinese students studying abroad should obtain their departure certificates from the agencies providing services for overseas students.

Welfare Benefits

Competitive salaries will be offered to personnel entering the station, in accordance with the relevant regulations of the state and Fudan University. For those participating in relevant projects, a specified amount of remuneration for labor will be paid as stipulated. The International Cultural Exchange College will provide appropriate matching support based on its financial situation and will also offer excellent office conditions for postdoctoral researchers.

Regarding household registration transfer and housing, these matters will be handled in accordance with Fudan University's relevant regulations. For children of postdoctoral fellows with Shanghai household registration, enrollment in kindergartens and primary and secondary schools in Shanghai will be handled in accordance with Shanghai's relevant regulations. For children of full-time postdoctoral fellows with non-Shanghai household registration, their enrollment in kindergartens and primary and secondary schools will be handled in accordance with the school's relevant policies. The school will provide medical insurance, physical examination services, and other social welfare guarantees for full-time postdoctoral fellows. Outstanding full-time postdoctoral fellows who meet the relevant conditions may apply for national funding programs (including the "Boshen Program"), the Shanghai Super Postdoctoral Program, the Fudan University Super Postdoctoral Program, and other talent programs.

Training Measures

The Workstation of the School of International Cultural Exchange and Communication of Fudan University conducts assessment and appointment for applicants through an application assessment system. The assessment involves strict academic evaluation by an expert group, alongside a comprehensive evaluation of candidates' ideological and political qualities and professional ethics. Outstanding applicants are recommended for various levels of postdoctoral talent projects.

  1. Outstanding research achievements made by postdoctoral fellows during their tenure at the institution (with the first authorship unit being the School of International Cultural Exchange of Fudan University) will be included in the School's research reward system.
